Why Invest In A Movie

Making Movies is Good Business. Low budget movies have been very successful in making huge returns for investors. However, making movies under modest budgets does not mean that the quality will suffer. On the contrary, where the appropriate scripts and personnel are involved and these personnel have the knowledge and technical skills needed, exceptionally successful motion pictures can be made with very minor riskof loss from the investment. Movie making has changed significantly. It is no longer necessary to go to a studio for the production. Making the pictures on location allows for tremendous savings.
Television studios are needed for series where production interior sets are needed. It is much easier to make movies today from a technical standpoint because cameras and equipment have become much more portable.

Profitability         A  movie is the best investment one can make for the up-side potential vs.  the risk. They’re better than real estate, blue chip stocks, gold,  silver, gems, income-producing rental properties,  futures, international currencies, better than anything, with the  possible exception of investing in your own education and spiritual  enlightenment.   There  simply is no business with manufacturing capital entry requirements as  low as motion pictures where the potential return can be as unlimited  over the short, medium and long terms. For  instance, a movie such as HALLOWEEN which costs as little as $320,000  to purchase, earned $75,000,000, and it does not stop earning money –  for a lifetime. RETURN OF THE SECAUCUS cost only $60,000 and grossed  $2,500,000. BENJI cost $550,000 and grossed $45,000,000;  NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD cost $114,000 and grossed $40,000,000, GRIZZLY  cost $700,000 and grossed $31,000,000, DAWN OF THE DEAD cost $700,000  and grossed $55,000,000. There are thousands of other examples where the  return was at least three times anything  done by securities listed on the New York or American Stock Exchange.   So  is an investor crazy to NOT invest in the movies? YES, HE OR SHE IS  CRAZY TO NOT INVEST IN MOVIES. With the new markets such as China, with  1.2 billion new potential moviegoers coming  on line and India with 900 million new potential English-speaking movie  goers, investing in movies has never been so good.    It  is safe to say that at least 730 million new moviegoers each decade (73  million x 10 years)will come on line to watch movies. Even the poor in  China invest in a color television and make  monthly payments as, or more, avidly than they spend money on food and  rent. They don’t sit around and do nothing all day – they watch movies  off their satellite dishes and diligently apply what they are learning  about the world to contribute to the growth  in their own, unique way.  The American Film Marketing Association (AFMA) annual  survey  indicated that the Independent films accounted for $3.4  billion of  North American Film box-office receipts, that’s 36 percent  of the total $9.5 billion of box office receipts.  Baskerville  Communications of the U.K. has forecasted global box office revenues to  grow to $28 billion by 2018. While the U.S. film distributors are  projecting the rise in total worldwide  revenues to increase to $31 billion by 2018. The Motion Picture  Association of America (MPAA) reported that the United States, China and  India account for 67 percent of the global screen count.
